One tap. Everyone knows.

When labor starts, LaborDay texts each person in your Plan their job. No group chat. No fifteen “what do you need?” replies.

The iPhone app, where you tap, is on its way. Your Plan carries over.

Free. The people you text install nothing.

Try it. Nothing is sent.

Your Plan is Ready.

One tap. 20 seconds to cancel.

Before the due date

Everyone gets a job, not news.

Up to ten people. Each one has a Role and a Message you wrote ahead of time, on a calm afternoon, with a keyboard.

Pet Sitter · the Message, as written

Hi Dana! Maya here. When you get the Labor Day alert, please come pick up the pets. Keys are in the usual spot.

When it starts

Tap once. Put the phone down.

20 seconds to change your mind. Your Messages send at zero. Then you can stop managing people.

LaborDay tells you what it knows, not what you hope. If a phone never confirms, it says so.

What they get

A text, and a page with their job.

From LaborDay, signed with your first name

No app. No account. A link that shows only their part: who it is from, their Role, where to go.

The SMS program

How LaborDay sends texts, who agrees to them, and how to stop them.

  1. Plan ahead. Before the due date, the Planner adds up to ten Recipients: the birth team, childcare, the pet sitter, family. Each one gets a Role and the Message they should receive.
  2. Each Recipient opts in. The Planner shares an invite link with each person. They open it, confirm their own mobile number and agree to receive LaborDay texts. Nobody is texted before they agree.
  3. One tap when it starts. When labor begins, the Planner taps once on her phone. A short countdown lets her cancel. Then LaborDay sends every Recipient their Message by SMS.

Who sends the texts

Texts come from LaborDay's own phone number, sent on the Planner's behalf and signed with her first name. They do not come from her phone, and she does not see your replies. LaborDay is run by its founder as a sole proprietor.

How a Recipient opts in

Only the person who owns the number can opt it in. The Planner shares an invite link with you over her own messaging app or email, so LaborDay sends nothing until you have agreed.

On the invite page you confirm your mobile number and tick a box agreeing to receive LaborDay texts. Then LaborDay sends one confirmation text. When the Planner activates her plan, you get your Message.

You can stop at any time: reply STOP to any LaborDay text and your number is never texted again, by any plan. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

What you receive

  • One confirmation text when you opt in.
  • One Message when the Planner activates her plan, with a private link to your own page showing where to go and what to do.

That is the whole program. No marketing, no reminders, no sharing of your number. See the SMS terms and the privacy policy.

Ready before you need it.

Set it up this weekend. Then forget about it until the night it matters.
