Privacy policy
LaborDay collects what it needs to send a Planner's birth-day texts, and nothing it does not. Mobile numbers and opt-in information are never shared or sold for marketing.
This policy covers the LaborDay app, the web planner and the texts LaborDay sends. LaborDay is operated by its founder as a sole proprietor (“LaborDay”, “we”).
What we collect
From Planners
- Email address and a display name, to sign in.
- The plan: due date, the place to go, and the list of Recipients.
- For each Recipient: name, mobile number, Role and the Message to send them.
From Recipients
- The opt-in record: the mobile number you confirmed, when you agreed, and the version of the disclosure you agreed to.
- Replies to LaborDay texts, such as STOP and HELP, and when they arrived.
Automatically
- Delivery records for each text: when it was sent and whether the carrier accepted it.
- Error reports and product analytics about how the app is used. These never contain names, numbers or Message text.
How we use it
To send the texts the Planner set up, to show each Recipient their own page, to honor opt-outs, and to keep the service working. We do not use your information for advertising.
What we never do
We do not share or sell mobile numbers, opt-in information or any other personal information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Opt-in consent is not transferred to anyone.
Who else sees it
Only the service providers that run LaborDay, and only to do their job: Twilio delivers the texts, Supabase stores the data and handles sign-in, Vercel hosts the website, Sentry receives error reports and PostHog receives analytics. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Recipient names, numbers and Messages are kept while the plan is active and deleted within 30 days after the Planner removes them or deletes her account.
- The private link in each Message stops working seven days after it is sent.
- Opt-out records are kept for as long as needed to make sure a number that replied STOP is never texted again.
- Delivery records are kept with names and numbers removed, to show that texts were sent only with consent and that opt-outs were honored.
How to delete it
- Planners: remove a Recipient in the app, or delete your account from Settings. Everything tied to it is permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Recipients: reply STOP to any LaborDay text to stop all texts to your number. To have your name and number removed from a plan, contact us and we will remove them within 30 days.
